Bilingual Chinese-English school in Huadu district, part of the Yew Chung Yew Wah (YCYW) network founded in Hong Kong in 1932 and expanded into mainland China from 1998.

YWIES Guangzhou opened in 2014 and runs early years through to IB Diploma, with a co-teaching model that pairs a Chinese and a foreign teacher in primary classrooms. CIS-accredited. Around 550 students. The bilingual focus and the Chinese cultural strand are the practical draws for mixed Chinese-foreign families and for expat families who want their children to leave Guangzhou with real Mandarin.

The campus is in Huadu, away from the central expat clusters, so transport is a real factor for prospective families. Families who stay long enough to reach the Diploma years tend to praise the personalised attention and the loyalty discount for siblings and re-enrolling families. Less of a fit for purely English-medium expats who want a more international peer group.
