Jincai International, also known as JCID, is the international division of Shanghai Jincai High School, a Pudong municipal school that opened the international stream in 2000. It sits at No. 26 Eshan Road near Century Park, runs IPC in primary, IB MYP authorised in 2006 and IB DP authorised in 2015. Admissions are restricted to foreign-passport students. Around 500 students across roughly 40 nationalities.

Tuition lands around RMB 68,000 to 76,000 a year, a fraction of SAS, Dulwich or Concordia, which is the main draw. Parent voice talks about confidence and academic growth, an organised programme, and a Chinese-language environment that gives expat children real Mandarin exposure. The recurring pushback is on canteen food and on co-curriculars and pastoral depth that do not match the big private schools. Useful option for families on local-hire packages who still need a foreign-passport school.

  • Jincai International Division is named alongside SHSID as the closest a foreign family can get to a public-school education in Shanghai. One parent said the international divisions of local schools use international curricula taught in English, with foreign teachers, at a fraction of the cost of full international schools.
  • Facilities sit below the big-name international schools, but commenters argue the teaching quality is stronger.
