In Brief

LFM is the right school if your child is already in the French system and you need continuity - or if you want a bilingual French-English education with direct access to French higher education via Parcoursup. For everyone else, the very small size and French-language instruction make it a niche choice rather than a general recommendation.

Lycée Français de Manille was founded in 1973 and is one of the longest-established international schools in the Philippines. It is accredited by AEFE (Agence pour l'Enseignement Français a l'Etranger) - the French government's overseas education agency - which means LFM follows the French national curriculum and its qualifications (Brevet, Baccalaureat) are fully recognised in France and across the French higher education system. Graduates can apply directly to French universities via Parcoursup without additional credential conversion. The school also operates an American International Section (launched 2020-2021) for families who want French-curriculum rigour alongside deeper English-language instruction.

LFM shares the Eurocampus at 75 Swaziland Street, Better Living, Parañaque, with the German European School Manila (GESM). The two schools are entirely separate institutions - different curriculum, management, and admissions - but they share campus infrastructure through the European Education Foundation (EEFI), a non-profit that owns the site. With around 65 students from 8 nationalities, LFM is one of the smallest international schools in Metro Manila. The 2024 baccalaureate cohort achieved a 100% pass rate, and most graduates are bilingual in French and English with an average C1 level at Cambridge English proficiency - a strong outcome for a school of this size.

Annual fees run from PHP 344K (Nursery/early primary) to PHP 752K (Grade 12), plus a non-refundable PHP 90K registration fee and a PHP 60K refundable deposit at entry. The fee range is mid-market by Manila international school standards - higher than Southville or Reedley, lower than ISM or NAIS. The school's very small size means the social environment is unlike anything at a 500-plus-student school: children from Nursery through Grade 12 are all on the same campus, and the community is close-knit by necessity. Families joining without prior French-language background should discuss language integration directly with the school, as core instruction is in French.

What parents value
  • AEFE-accredited since 1973 - the French government's overseas education network. 100% baccalaureate pass rate in 2024, with graduates averaging C1 in Cambridge English. Direct access to French higher education via Parcoursup for graduates.
  • One of only two schools in Metro Manila sharing the Eurocampus in Better Living, Parañaque - a lush 2-hectare campus site. American International Section available for bilingual French-English families since 2020.
  • Very small school of around 65 students creates an unusually close community. Mid-range fees (PHP 344K-752K annually) relative to other AEFE-network schools globally.
Points of consideration
  • Core instruction is in French. Families joining without a French-language background should ask the school directly about integration support and realistic timelines for a child entering at primary or secondary level.
  • At around 65 students, LFM is one of the smallest schools in Metro Manila. Year groups may be very small, with limited peers in a given age band - assess whether this suits your child's social needs before committing.
  • The non-refundable PHP 90K registration fee is payable before entry. Factor this into your total first-year cost alongside annual tuition when comparing schools.
