Mahindra International School (MIS)
India's oldest full-continuum IB school, built for internationally mobile families and priced accordingly.
In brief
India's oldest full-continuum IB school, built for internationally mobile families and priced accordingly.
Mahindra International School opened in 1998 as Mercedes-Benz International School and took its current name in 2019 under the KC Mahindra Educational Trust. It runs the IB Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma programmes across one campus in Hinjewadi, and was the first school in India authorised for all three plus the first to gain Council of International Schools accreditation. The roughly 387 students come from around 32 nationalities, with an expatriate share over half and faculty drawn from sixteen countries. Diploma cohorts are small, twenty to thirty candidates a year, averaging in the low-to-mid thirties and sitting above the global mean. The fit is clearest for relocating and globally minded families wanting an established IB continuum rather than a national board. Tuition runs high and is banded by nationality and grade, with a substantial one-time admission fee on top, so cost is the central consideration.

Reviews
Long-standing IB families tend to value the diversity and the small, settled secondary cohorts, while the recurring hesitation is whether the premium fees match what lands day to day.
Positives
- Facilities and campus. Parents describe the campus as well equipped, though some flag that upkeep and maintenance could be sharper.
- International community. The mixed-nationality, majority-expatriate student body is consistently named as a genuine draw.
Considerations
- Value for money. Across parent ratings, value for money draws the lowest marks, with the fee level questioned relative to what is delivered.
