DBIS Matunga is the international arm of the Don Bosco Salesian network in Mumbai, opened in June 2014 at Nathalal Parekh Marg in Matunga East.

Curriculum
IB, British
Ages
3 to 18

DBIS Matunga is the international arm of the Don Bosco Salesian network in Mumbai, opened in June 2014 at Nathalal Parekh Marg in Matunga East. A coed day school running the IB Primary Years and Diploma programmes alongside Cambridge IGCSE, headed by Fr. Ajoy Fernandes SDB.

The school is part of the Don Bosco Salesian education tradition that has been in Matunga since the early twentieth century, and shares the precinct with Don Bosco High School. PYP authorisation came in 2018 and the IB Diploma in 2019, and the school holds CIS accreditation. The school transports students by bus across central Mumbai.

Parents and students consistently flag the warm and approachable nature of teachers, the sports infrastructure and faculty, and the breadth of dance, music, drama and arts as part of the programme. The Salesian ethos shapes pastoral care and the school is more values-driven than the secular BKC names. Best fit for families in Matunga, Sion, Wadala and Dadar wanting an IB pathway grounded in the Don Bosco tradition rather than an internationalist or corporate ethos.

  • Don Bosco International School (DBIS) sits on the Salesian campus in Matunga, Mumbai, and offers Cambridge IGCSE through to the IB Diploma. IB-affiliated since 2018.
  • Parent and student feedback online is positive but the volume is small relative to Mumbai's larger international schools. Edustoke shows around 16 reviews averaging; SchoolMyKids reports a 945-review aggregate at, weighted toward positive.
  • Recurring themes: world-class sports infrastructure (the Don Bosco campus is well-known in Mumbai for facilities), holistic balance of academics and extracurriculars, and a friendly Salesian school culture. One alumna wrote "DBIS is where I spent the best years of my life. Not only did I make amazing, lifelong friends but I also got the opportunity to learn from the very best."
  • Tuition is mid-tier for Mumbai IB schools, broadly INR 6k-10k a month at school level (real total cost is meaningfully higher with annual fees). It is not in the top fee tier alongside Dhirubhai Ambani International or Oberoi.
  • Negative reviews are isolated and come without detailed substance. One review on Edustoke simply says "Very baday" with no context, and there is no recurring critical pattern across forums.
  • Online discussion specific to the IB Diploma cohort, results data, university destinations and recent leadership is thin. Reviewers tend to describe the school in general rather than results-specific terms.
