Multiple Intelligence International School (MIIS)
Progressive American-style school in Loyola Heights, Quezon City.
In brief
The basics. Progressive Pre-K to 12 school in Loyola Heights, Quezon City, with a brand-new Parklinks campus opening for SY 2026-27. Founded 1996 by Mary Joy Canon-Abaquin. Built around Howard Gardner's multiple intelligences framework. CIS-accredited. Tuition sits in the mid-tier international band (roughly PHP 80k-150k a year), well below ISM or BSM.
What people actually like. Small classes and a genuinely warm community are the consistent themes. Parents talk about kids being known by name, mentored rather than processed. Teachers are described as approachable. It has a real reputation for inclusion - it runs SPED provision for autism and hearing-impaired students alongside mainstream, which matters if your child needs support or you want a less pressure-cooker environment. University placement is solid into the top local universities (Ateneo, La Salle, UP), less so for overseas pathways - this is not where families go if Ivy League is the target.
Where to keep eyes open. Staff reviews tell a more complicated story than the marketing. Recurring notes from teachers: heavy workloads, pay below other international schools, some management friction. According to one teacher, the school "calls itself a family" but leans on that to extend duties. That can show up as turnover, which can mean changing faces year to year. Worth asking on a tour: how long have the homeroom teachers been here, and what's the leadership team's tenure.
Fit. Best for families who want a softer, child-led, locally-rooted progressive education with a strong inclusion ethos. Less obvious fit for families chasing IB rigour or a heavily expat peer group - the student body is predominantly Filipino. The new Parklinks campus is a real upgrade on facilities; if you're arriving for 2026-27, you'll be part of that move.
One parent quote that captures the feel: according to one student review, they "loved this school the whole 3 grades I was here." That kind of attachment is the recurring note - it's a school people get fond of.
