Dreamtime Learning Hub is Lina Ashar's micro-school venture in Jubilee Hills, capping enrolment at 120 children across mixed-age learning hubs of ten.

Cambridge Primary and Lower Secondary (Checkpoint) form the curriculum spine, layered with workshop activities in robotics, 3D printing, music composition, and culinary arts. Age range runs 2 to 15. Programmes are structured as Foundation Fantasy (2-6), Elementary Utopia (6-11), and Cosmic Middle Years (11-14), with a Learn From Home option as a fourth track. The model emphasises self-paced progression, mindfulness routines, and ability-based grouping over fixed grade cohorts.

Lina Ashar founded Kangaroo Kids and Billabong High in the 1990s and 2000s before launching Dreamtime in 2022 as a smaller, founder-led alternative to scaled-up chain schools. The Jubilee Hills site is the first hub; expansion to Bangalore, Pune, Chennai, and Delhi is on the public roadmap. Parent commentary at this scale is thin by design: 120 places means little independent review volume, and most public signal traces back to the operator's own communications.

The lived texture here splits along the join between the classroom and the front office. Families who get inside describe a warm, small setting where facilitators are named, kind, and attentive, and where the personal scale shows in how children are looked after day to day. The friction sits earlier and higher up. The bit parents return to is the admissions handling and the people running it: an application fee taken before any place is confirmed, then little word back, alongside a sense that money drives decisions and that leaving again is not made easy.

Positives

  • Warm, attentive faculty. Parents describe the teaching staff as kind and knowledgeable and the environment as welcoming, the kind of close attention the small-hub model is built to give.
  • Care and safety at small scale. Several parents single out how closely individual children are watched over, crediting the school's handling of safety and day-to-day care.

Considerations

  • Admissions handling. A recurring complaint is that an application fee is collected up front with no guarantee of a place and little follow-up afterwards, leaving families chasing for updates before any seat is confirmed.
  • Management and communication. Some parents read the management as money-driven and hard to deal with, and talk about thin communication from the leadership team and withdrawal terms that are not easy to navigate once enrolled.
