Al Manar International School - Al Dafna Campus
The smaller Dafna campus of the Al Manar International School chain in central Doha. American curriculum, Pre-K through Grade 12, capacity around 500.
In brief
The smaller Dafna campus of the Al Manar International School chain in central Doha. American curriculum, Pre-K through Grade 12, capacity around 500.
Common Core American framework, accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, alongside Ministry-mandated Arabic, Islamic Studies and Qatar History. Sister campuses elsewhere in Doha take the bulk of the chain's enrolment.
Facilities cover science, maths, computer and language labs, a library, a synthetic-turf playground and a prayer room. Families with kids who want predictable American academics at a Doha-Arab price point find the value strong. Other parents flag an older building, weaker middle-school facilities, and patchy communication. Standardised test results are presented as a strength by the school.
Best fit for Arab and Muslim expat families wanting an American pathway in central Doha. Less of a fit for families wanting a brand-new Western-style campus or a heavily expat peer mix.
Reviews
- The strongest open signal is staff-side: Indeed reviews describe a stressful environment, lack of professionalism, and management built on "gossips and conspiracy" according to a vice-principal posting in mid-2024.
- A homeroom teacher post cites overcrowded classrooms, no staff bathrooms, and poor cleanliness.
- Staff-side aggregate ratings are middling, with under-half recommend rate; pros include on-time salary and private health insurance, cons include low pay and a culture that values "connections with decision makers more than talent."
- A parent voice does not surface in any open forum; aggregator sites carry mixed-tone, single-line ratings that read as solicited rather than independent.
- The Al Dafna site is one of two AMIS campuses in Doha and shares operator and reputation with Al Thameed.
