The girls' counterpart to Al Maha Academy for Boys, also under the Ta'allum Group, in Ain Khaled. British curriculum with a strong Islamic ethos.

Three sections, early years through secondary, on a single campus. Around 1,000 in primary and roughly 500 in secondary. WASC-accredited, with IGCSE leading into AS Level and Qatar Thanawia. Same Ta'allum operator as the boys' school and Al Jazeera Academy.

Cambridge framework alongside Ministry Arabic, Islamic Studies and Qatar History, with the Tarbeya programme and Quran memorisation embedded in the timetable. Parents praise caring teachers, the balance of faith and academics, and a leadership team that engages with families. Teacher turnover comes up as a recurring concern, and some parents report classes left without a permanent teacher mid-year.

Best fit for families who want an academically serious girls' school with Islamic identity. Less of a fit for families wanting a co-ed environment or a fully Anglo international culture.

  • A current student in r/qatar describes the girls school as "really good," with most year-7 teachers British or European and the atmosphere not toxic.
  • The same student rates the boys school below the girls school and recommends the girls site over the co-located boys campus for upper years.
  • A separate r/qatar thread agrees that Al Maha for girls is the stronger of the two campuses.
  • An expat.com forum thread on teaching at the girls school is light on detail; one teacher praises the salary, another notes management expects flexibility on activities outside the contract scope.
  • International teacher reviews of the wider Al Maha operation flag the same Taallum-group concerns as the boys site: management churn, ownership without education background, and salary lag.

Head of school

Nadia Waja

It is with great pleasure that I introduce myself to you as Principal of Al Maha Academy for Girls. Our mission statement, “An excellent internationally recognised education with Islamic identity”, defines us at Al Maha Academy for Girls. We are a school that provides the very best opportunities for our students to develop, grow and mature into young adults. Thus allowing our graduates to become life long learners and global citizens. Whilst we have high expectations and ambitions for our students, we also know that for them to succeed, we need to provide a caring, supportive and challenging environment in which they can grow and flourish.
