ISB operates as a non-profit institution serving students from pre-kindergarten through Grade 12 with an American-style curriculum enhanced by International Baccalaureate and Advanced Placement programs. The school's campus in Nichada Thani provides extensive facilities within a gated community environment, though this location means families living in central Bangkok areas like Sukhumvit or Sathorn face significant commute times. Multiple teacher discussions describe ISB as having 'one of the nicest campuses' visited, with the suburban setting offering respite from Bangkok's urban intensity while creating what some describe as a 'bubble' environment.

Parent and teacher feedback consistently places ISB in Bangkok's tier-one international schools, with discussions highlighting excellent university placement rates and strong academic programs. The school's American curriculum approach appeals to families seeking US-style education, while IB and AP options provide international recognition. Teacher discussions suggest ISB offers competitive compensation packages and can represent 'a lifetime appointment with an excellent package' for educators, though recent leadership changes have created some uncertainty according to teaching community discussions.

  • Bangkok parent and teacher threads position ISB in the same top tier as NIST and Bangkok Patana. One parent described the three as the only schools in Bangkok widely seen as top tier, with everyone else "second tier at best."
  • Recurring themes from parents: strong sense of community, large green campus inside Nichada Thani, and a long commute for families based in central Bangkok. Multiple commenters flag that ISB "basically" needs a car.
  • Class of 2025 IB Diploma results: 95 students earned the Diploma with an average of 34 points against a global 30.58 average; 34% earned the Bilingual Diploma. Parents repeatedly cite ISB as a credible Ivy-League/UK pipeline alongside NIST and Patana.
  • Teachers describe first-class facilities, strong students, and a supportive community, but flag low housing allowance relative to other top-tier schools and concerns about long-tenured leadership.
  • One Mumsnet parent flagged behavioural concerns: privileged students, with reported drug and alcohol issues from grades 8-9 onwards. This is a single-source claim against a much larger positive pool.
  • Cost is consistently noted as high. Bangkok parents online estimate full schooling at ISB or peer schools from age 5 to 18 at roughly USD 200-250k all-in.
