A non-profit bilingual day school in Küsnacht with a strong gymnasium-track record and a calm, family-friendly culture. A solid pick for families settling on the Goldküste who want their child to land in the Swiss system, not bypass it.

Founded 1996, with a second campus added in Horgen in 2012. Primary years on both sites, secondary feeding into the Swiss Matura path. Instruction splits 50:50 German and English, taught by mother-tongue teachers in each language. Daniel Ng took over as head of school in 2025 after years leading the primary at Obersee Bilingual.

Around 60 percent of Lakeside leavers transition to a Gymnasium, against a Swiss-school average closer to 20 percent. Parents describe the tone as strict but supportive, with a clear behaviour code and quick response to issues. New families integrate fast. Class culture is mixed-grade-friendly with whole-class birthday invitations the norm. The non-profit governance keeps the focus on schooling rather than network expansion.
