A Christian American-curriculum school on Ting Chou Road, the Taipei branch of the Morrison Academy system founded in Taichung in 1952 to educate missionaries' children and now serving the broader expat community.

Morrison Taipei runs K to 12 with around 920 students, ACSI and WASC accreditation and an explicitly Christian framing in every part of school life. Zachary Sawyer leads the campus. The wider Morrison system has campuses in Taichung, Kaohsiung and a Linkou campus south of Taipei City, with single-point bus pick-ups along the Jianguo highway feeding the latter.

The school sits in a clear lane. Families who want an American Christian education with caring teachers, project-based learning and a strong character emphasis find Morrison a natural fit. Parent voice is consistently warm, with rigour and pastoral care both showing up. It is not the school for secular families or for those wanting the IB. The recurring honest comment is that good instructors do not always stay long, which is the standard expat-school pattern. Families weighing Morrison usually compare it to Grace Christian and Dominican.

  • Morrison Academy Taipei is the Taipei campus of a Christian American-curriculum group running since 1961, and the public review pool is small but consistently warm. Independent ratings sit at the top of the scale, drawn from a handful of parent and alumni voices.
  • Parents call the teaching staff highly qualified and describe a culture that holds students to rigorous academic standards while putting visible weight on character growth. Athletics, service and arts opportunities come up as a recurring strength.
  • The Linkou facility, opened in 2020, gets specific praise. Parents and directory listings describe brand-new K-12 buildings with separate elementary, middle and high pods, performing-arts space, library, indoor and outdoor basketball, and a soccer field.
  • The Christian framing is a deliberate filter. Reviews the school is openly faith-based, which works for the families who choose it but is the practical reason it sits in a different bucket from secular peers like Taipei American School.

Positives

  • Rigorous academics with character emphasis. Repeated parent comments on standards plus pastoral focus.
  • New Linkou facilities. 2020 K-12 campus with dedicated elementary, middle and high pods, arts and sports.

Considerations

  • Christian ethos as a filter. Openly faith-based culture; suits some families and rules the school out for others.
  • Small public review pool. Warm reviews come from a small number of voices; treat aggregate scores as small-sample.
