VISS occupies a genuinely distinct position in Sharjah: it's the only school in the UAE delivering the Victorian state curriculum (Australia's most rigorous state programme), and it's not a commercial venture - the partnership with the Victorian Government means the academic direction is set in Melbourne, not by a fee-maximising board. The Al Taawun seafront campus near the Dubai border makes it accessible from both sides of the border.

Around 1,500 students from 60-plus nationalities attend; the teaching staff are predominantly Australian. Families who come from Australia or who want their children educated in an Australian framework find the continuity valuable. At Grade 11 and 12, students can take the IB Diploma Programme or the VISS Global Citizen Diploma - a useful fork in the road that most Australian-curriculum schools can't offer. Fees reach AED 78,400 at Grade 12, which puts VISS among the pricier schools in Sharjah - comparable to mid-tier Dubai British schools. The school is expanding to new campuses in Maliha, Tilal, Khorfakkan, and Kalba, which suggests strong demand but also management bandwidth worth asking about.
