Victoria International School of Sharjah is a not-for-profit school in Al Taawun, founded in 2007 through a partnership between Sharjah and the Australian state of Victoria.

The school follows an Australian curriculum pathway with international options in the senior years, and has grown into a wider VISS group with additional Sharjah-region campuses. The original Al Taawun campus is the main reference point for families comparing VISS with other Australian or IB-style options in the UAE.

It is best treated as a Sharjah school with cross-emirate appeal, not as a Dubai campus. Families based in Dubai should test the commute before committing.

  • Parent reviews are broadly positive about facilities, safety, a welcoming community, teachers, and activities.
  • Long-term parent feedback says children like school and families feel able to approach staff, while also noting a preference for clearer books or take-home study materials in some subjects.
  • Forum discussion adds a practical caution about school-run traffic and commute choices around Sharjah and Dubai.

Positives

  • Community and safety. Parents describe a safe, positive environment with friendly teachers and active community events.
  • Facilities and activities. Reviews praise facilities, cleanliness, and activities.

Considerations

  • Learning materials and commute. One long-term parent wants clearer books or study materials, and forum posts warn about commute and traffic.
