In Brief

LFIGP is the only serious option for French-curriculum families in Sharjah, and the not-for-profit AEFE structure gives it a credibility that commercially run alternatives cannot match. If your children are on the French track, enrol early - the Sharjah campus is smaller than the Dubai campuses and year groups fill up.

LFIGP has been in Sharjah since 1978 - four years longer than the German school next door in Al Abar - and its AEFE accreditation means the French Baccalaureate it awards carries the same legal weight as one earned in France. The not-for-profit structure, rare in the UAE private school market, keeps fees at Sharjah campus rates that are significantly lower than the school's own Dubai Academic City campus (which charges AED 36,920 for elementary versus AED 29,800 in Sharjah). The French Baccalaureate pass rate of 97 to 100 percent is a consistent result rather than a one-year outlier.

The IB Diploma option added from Grade 10 in September 2024 is a meaningful change: families who want their children educated in French through secondary but with an internationally portable exit qualification at Grade 12 now have a route that didn't exist before. Arabic is taught from Grade 1. The school draws up to 50 nationalities across its campuses, though the Sharjah site has a notably French and Francophone core - children who arrive without any French will face a steeper integration path in the early years than at an English-medium school.

The Sharjah campus page on lfigp.org returns a 404, which makes independent research difficult; the available fee data for the Sharjah campus comes from a single secondary source and should be confirmed directly with the school before enrolling. The secondary school at the Dubai Academic City campus is the more established track for senior years; it's worth asking the school directly how many students continue their senior years in Sharjah versus transferring to Dubai. The SPEA Very Good rating is solid, though the school has not been inspected at Outstanding level.

What parents value
  • Only AEFE-accredited French-curriculum school in Sharjah; not-for-profit ownership. Founded 1978 with a 97-100% French Baccalaureate pass rate.
  • IB Diploma option available from Grade 10 (from September 2024) - a new and genuinely useful exit pathway for families wanting international university options.
  • Sharjah campus fees significantly lower than the school's Dubai campus. Arabic taught from Grade 1; up to 50 nationalities across campuses.
Points of consideration
  • Children without any prior French will need significant support in the early years - this is not an immersive language-learning school but a French-medium school. Assess language readiness before applying.
  • The Sharjah campus website page is currently unavailable. Confirm current fee schedule, year groups offered, and senior school pathway directly with the school before committing.
  • Secondary school provision may route students to the Dubai Academic City campus for senior years. Ask the school clearly about which year groups are taught in Sharjah versus Dubai.
