In Brief

AGS is the only route to a full IB continuum education in Sharjah, which is a real draw for families who want PYP through to Diploma in one school. It's a young school still finding its feet after leadership upheaval, so visit in person and ask about staffing continuity before committing.

AGS sits in a category of one in Sharjah: no other school in the emirate offers all four IB programmes. That's a meaningful advantage for families planning to stay long-term and want their children in the same school from early years through to Grade 12. The Al Rahmaniyah campus is purpose-built and the facilities - three STEAM labs, a dedicated robotics space, a media studio, ballet studio, and a refurbished sports complex - are a step above what you'd expect from a school of 350 students.

The teacher-to-student ratio is approximately 1:3 across the school, which is genuinely exceptional. Class sizes cap at 20 in kindergarten and 24 in other grades. Cognia accreditation gives the school standing in the US and internationally; IB authorisation for all four programmes positions it well for families thinking about US or internationally-focused university pathways. Families who've been here a few years describe the community as tight-knit and responsive.

The catch is history. In its first three years, AGS went through three principals in quick succession before Ms Gammoh took the Campus Director role in 2024. That's more leadership movement than you'd want to see in a young school. The SPEA Good rating is respectable but not outstanding, and with only 7 parent survey responses on WSA at the time of writing, the sample is too small to draw strong conclusions. At AED 63,100 for Grade 12, fees are in mid-premium territory for Sharjah - comparable to VISS but without VISS's track record.

What parents value
  • Only full IB continuum school in Sharjah - PYP, MYP, DP, and Career-related Programme in a single campus. Useful for families seeking US or international university pathways.
  • Teacher-to-student ratio of approximately 1:3; class caps at 20 in KG and 24 in other grades. Purpose-built STEAM and robotics facilities for a school of its size.
  • Cognia-accredited (US); IB authorisation process well advanced. Tuition fee includes books and resources for each grade.
Points of consideration
  • Three principals in three years before the current appointment in 2024. Ask directly what leadership stability looks like going forward.
  • SPEA Good rating - solid but not Very Good. Only 7 WSA parent reviews at the time of writing; a thin sample for a school opened in 2021. Visit and speak to current families before enrolling.
  • At AED 63,100 for Grade 12, fees sit in the premium range for Sharjah without the inspection track record of SES or VISS. An external IB exam fee of AED 3,000 applies at Grade 12.
