In brief
Second global campus of Avenues The World School, opened August 2018 in Real Parque with around 1,300 students from 18 months through Grade 12.
Avenues runs a US-influenced bilingual programme in English and Portuguese with full immersion in the early years, two teachers per Pre-K classroom, and a single American diploma at the end. Brazilian families who add the national curriculum graduate with both. The school deliberately skipped IB in favour of its in-house programme, which gives it more curricular freedom and routes university planning through US-style course choice and college counselling.
The campus is a 40,000-square-metre purpose-built facility, and founding cohorts have placed strongly into US selectives alongside USP and FGV. Cross-campus exchanges with Avenues New York and Shenzhen pull weight with internationally mobile families. Fees sit at the top of the Sao Paulo market and the community skews wealthy Brazilian and globally mobile expat. Families wanting a more traditional academic frame or IB pathway choose Graded, St Pauls or Beacon instead.

Reviews
- Avenues opened the Morumbi campus in 2018 and was acquired by Nord Anglia in October 2023. Conversation in Brazilian press and among parents places it firmly at the top of the elite-fee bracket, with annual fees that have drawn satirical Google review campaigns mocking the price tag.
- One parent wrote that Avenues is "badly seen by the old money elite" because it is open to anyone who can pay tuition rather than selective like older Sao Paulo private schools.
- Parents who chose Avenues consistently highlight project-based learning, an engaged parent community and a campus designed for global circulation across New York and Shenzhen sister sites.
- The school faces specific public-relations issues that surface in news reports: a teacher dismissed in 2023 over a social-media post in defence of Palestinians, and a 2024 yearbook quote attributed to Hitler by a student.
- Critical voices treat it as a status purchase rather than a deeper academic alternative to the established Sao Paulo internationals such as Graded or St Paul's.
Positives
- Pedagogy. Project-based learning and global-campus model draw the most positive parent feedback
Considerations
- Status and selectivity. Brazilian commenters describe Avenues as a money-only school disliked by old-money families
- Public-relations incidents. Press coverage of a 2023 teacher dismissal over a Palestine post and a 2024 Hitler-quote yearbook entry
- Fee level. Recurring satire on Brazilian social media about tuition above R$14,000 a month
- Operator. Acquired by Nord Anglia in October 2023, distinct from the Shenzhen campus which was excluded from the deal
