Cambodia's first international school, founded in 1989 by a small group of NGO families and now the established IB-continuum option for serious expat and senior Cambodian families.

ISPP runs the full IB continuum across PYP, MYP and Diploma on a purpose-built six-hectare campus on Hun Neang Boulevard in Mean Chey, where the school moved fully in 2015. Around 900 students from roughly 50 nationalities sit alongside an Olympic-size pool, performing arts theatre, sports fields and library facilities that comfortably outclass anything else in the city. The school stays parent-governed and not-for-profit, with surpluses reinvested into the campus.

Academic rigour, a genuinely diverse cohort and a strong IB Diploma track record into competitive universities are the main draws. Mother-tongue support runs to around fourteen languages, which helps families holding French, Korean, Japanese or Khmer alongside English. Fees range from roughly USD 9,500 at the youngest end to close to USD 30,000 in the senior years, plus a USD 3,500 entrance fee, which puts ISPP firmly in the top tier of Phnom Penh costs.

  • ISPP is consistently positioned as Cambodia's leading international school; teachers describe it as the obvious choice in Phnom Penh and a clear step above the alternatives.
  • Parents praise the academic rigour, the IB continuum from PYP through Diploma, the Olympic-size pool and the wider campus, and call teachers dedicated and passionate.
  • Fees are around 9,500 to 29,000 US dollars a year before one-off entry costs; parents note the cost puts it out of reach for most local families.
  • Compensation is a recurring positive in teacher discussions, with ISPP reportedly paying among the top two or three schools in the city; one reference cited a base around 50,000 US dollars plus saving potential.
  • Accreditations: WASC, CIS, and full IB World School authorisation across all three IB programmes.

Positives

  • Position in market. Multiple Reddit and review sources call ISPP the strongest international option in Phnom Penh and treat anything else as a step down.
  • Academic offer. Full IB continuum (PYP, MYP, DP), WASC and CIS accreditation, and parent feedback on a challenging but rewarding curriculum.
  • Teaching staff. Parents and recruiters describe teachers as dedicated; pay is reported as among the strongest in Phnom Penh, supporting retention.
  • Facilities. Olympic-size pool, well-kept grounds and large classrooms repeatedly cited.

Considerations

  • Fees and access. Tuition spans roughly 9,500 to 29,000 US dollars depending on year, plus significant one-off entrance costs; out of reach for most local families.
