A privately founded school in Chroy Changvar following the Western Australian Curriculum from toddler through Grade 12, leading to a WACE qualification.

AFIS is one of the few schools in Phnom Penh authorised to deliver the full Western Australian Curriculum, and the WACE pathway gives sixth formers a recognised matriculation route into Australian and other universities without needing to layer on IB or A Levels. The campus sits across the river from central Phnom Penh in Chroy Changvar, an area that has filled in quickly with new housing. Around 300 students, with growing numbers reported in local press as the school expands its building footprint.

Founded and led by Mum Warin, the school has a personal, family-run feel rather than the polish of the bigger international names. Parent voice is thin but warm where it exists, with families talking about happy children, engaged staff, and an inquiry-based approach in the early years. Fees sit in the affordable-to-mid bracket for Phnom Penh, roughly USD 5,100 to 14,200 across the grades.

  • A single parent review on the International Schools Database, dated August 2023, awards the school top marks across teachers, academics, atmosphere and administration, with facilities and admin a notch below.
  • That parent says their children love it enough to ask to attend on weekends and treat the school as a second home.
  • The signal is too thin to characterise common themes. Sentiment is positive where it exists, but it sits on a single voice.

Positives

  • Parent satisfaction. Sole online parent review describes children genuinely happy at school and engaged with homework.
