A Dahisar East campus on roughly eight acres offering IB PYP, Cambridge IGCSE and the IB Diploma, plus the rare option of weekly and term boarding within Mumbai.

Singapore International School Mumbai opened in 2007 and is authorised as an IB World School. It runs PYP integrated with the Singapore curriculum and Reggio Emilia approach in the early years, then Cambridge IGCSE in the middle years, and the IB Diploma in the senior years. The campus is one of the largest in the metropolitan area, with sports fields, a swimming pool, and indoor courts, and the school operates day, weekly, monthly and term boarding which is unusual in Mumbai itself.

Parent feedback is mixed. The teachers and academic programme are generally well rated, and families are positive about the campus and the breadth of facilities. The boarding side has drawn more criticism, with some parents flagging issues around staff and food quality. Families considering SIS for boarding should visit and ask current boarder parents directly. The current head of school is Stephen Willoughby.

  • Aggregate parent ratings sit around 4.0 to 4.1 across major Indian directory sites, drawn from a few hundred reviews on Justdial alone.
  • Parents praise the campus setting on the city's outer edge, the IB and Cambridge curriculum mix and the unusual term, monthly, weekly and day boarding options.
  • The most repeated complaints concern the admissions team, described by some parents as rude and unprofessional, and the boarding side, where parents flag immature wardens and unsatisfactory food.
  • Day-school parents are more positive than boarding families. Reviews mention regular parent-teacher contact, workshops and active extracurricular programmes.
  • Reddit mentions are sparse but corroborate the school's IB credentials and merit-scholarship offer rather than substantive parent experience.

Positives

  • Curriculum and academics. IB and Cambridge programmes, merit scholarships, recognised academic offer.
  • Parent engagement. Regular parent-teacher meetings, workshops and seminars cited as a strength.
  • Setting. Campus described as quieter than central Mumbai, away from the city's noise.

Considerations

  • Admissions experience. Multiple parents flag the admissions team as rude or unprofessional.
  • Boarding facilities. Reviewers complain about warden quality and food.
