The default British-curriculum school for Ikeja-side professional Lagos families, founded in 1958 and consistently among the strongest exam performers in the country.

Grange runs the English National Curriculum and Cambridge IGCSE on a leafy campus in Ikeja GRA, with day and limited boarding for ages 4 to 16. The school is operated as a not-for-profit and has been in continuous operation since 1958, which gives it a generational following among Lagos families and a deep alumni network. External exam results are routinely cited as among the highest in the country, and many graduates feed into UK universities.

Families value the academic rigour, the calm grounds, and the swimming and sports provision. Class sizes and teaching are generally well-regarded. The flip side is that Grange is selective and stretching, and parents who arrive expecting a softer pastoral pace sometimes feel the pressure on their child. Sixth form is not offered at the main school, so families need to plan for the IGCSE-onward transition early.

  • Long-running British-curriculum school in Ikeja GRA, founded 1958; routinely listed among the most expensive secondary schools in Lagos in Nigerian business press.
  • IGCSE results are the school's strongest external signal, with onward placement at top UK and international sixth forms.
  • Parent commentary is positive on community feel, the campus and the pool, and on the school's not-for-profit ethos.
  • Critical reviews cluster around staff handling of pastoral incidents and management responsiveness; ex-students raise the loudest complaints, which is normal for a school of this age and size.
  • Available commentary is dominated by directory listings rather than candid parent views; Nairaland threads yield little usable signal, and direct parent feedback is similarly sparse.

Positives

  • Academic outcomes. IGCSE performance and onward placement at leading sixth forms drive the school's reputation.
  • Community and campus. Friendly, family-feel community, clean grounds and well-used pool come up repeatedly.

Considerations

  • Management and staff handling. Some former students and parents flag dissatisfaction with how staff and management handle complaints.
  • Cost positioning. Listed among the most expensive Lagos secondaries; fees in 2024/25 were around N4.5m for day and N6.5m for boarding.
