The Horizon Hills campus of the Invictus network, opened in January 2023 in Iskandar Puteri. Cambridge curriculum from age 3 through A Levels, around 750 students and growing fast.

Invictus pitches itself as a quality-but-affordable Cambridge school, with tuition from roughly MYR 22,500 in early years to MYR 48,500 at A Level, well below the top-tier Johor schools. The campus was built through a tie-up between Horizon Hills Development and Singapore-listed Chip Eng Seng. The wider Invictus group runs campuses in Singapore, Hong Kong, Cambodia, and Thailand.

The school has scaled past 700 students within two years of opening, suggesting strong demand from cross-border Singaporean families and the Horizon Hills expat community. Communication with parents runs through a dedicated app with real-time updates. Track record is short, so secondary results and university destinations are still being established. Best fit for families wanting a modern Cambridge pathway in the Iskandar Puteri belt at a more accessible fee point.

  • Independent parent commentary is thin. The schools-listing database has zero parent reviews. The clearest signal comes from one parent comparing the two Johor Bahru Invictus campuses, who said Horizon Hills felt like an entirely different school to the eastern Spring Hills site, with a much better feel.
  • The campus opened in January 2023 and has grown to over 700 pupils, making it one of the fastest-growing schools in the area. That growth is the key context for prospective families: there is no long parent track record yet.
  • Teachers map Horizon Hills as a credible mid-fee Cambridge option in the western JB cluster alongside Marlborough, Raffles American, Sunway and Tenby Setia Eco Gardens. Marlborough is named as the leading school in JB; Invictus sits below it on price and scale.
  • Group-level employer sentiment is weak. Invictus International School carries a 2.4 of 5 employer rating with frequent SLT change and concerns about the board's commercial priorities. That backdrop applies to staff stability across the network and is a real factor here alongside the positive parent feel reported for this campus.

Positives

  • Better-feeling sibling campus. One Reddit parent comparing both JB Invictus campuses said Horizon Hills felt like a different school to Spring Hills, with a much better impression.
  • Mid-fee Cambridge positioning. Reddit teachers and parents place it as a credible Cambridge option in western JB, below Marlborough on price and scale.

Considerations

  • Fast growth from new opening. Campus opened January 2023, now over 700 pupils. No long parent track record yet.
  • Group-level staff stability. Invictus group Glassdoor reviews flag SLT churn and commercial-first board priorities, relevant to teacher continuity.
