In Brief
Invictus Horizon Hills is the most complete Cambridge offering in the Johor market if you need the full pipeline from nursery to A-Levels, and the Horizon Hills Country Club access is a genuine perk. The school is still young - visit to assess whether the pace of growth suits your family.
Invictus International School Horizon Hills opened in January 2023 as part of the Invictus School Group, which runs schools across Singapore and Malaysia. In just over two years it has grown to around 750 students from more than 30 nationalities - an unusually fast trajectory that reflects genuine demand in this part of the market. The Cambridge British curriculum runs from EYFS right through to A-Levels (the full Cambridge pathway: Primary, Lower Secondary, IGCSE, AS and A-Level), which is a significant advantage for families who want continuity in one school from age 3 to 18.
The facility package at Horizon Hills is hard to fault for the fee level. Students have access to Horizon Hills Country Club, which means a genuine swimming pool, badminton courts and a golf course as part of the regular school week - not just for tours. On campus, the school has science labs, a FabLab, music rooms and a library. The Duke of Edinburgh Award programme is running, and parent feedback mentions an active parent support group, monthly Coffee Mornings and a community that feels genuinely engaged for a school this young.
The main variable to evaluate is maturity. Invictus Horizon Hills has been open since January 2023, which means it has not yet produced A-Level graduates and the track record at IGCSE is limited. Senior cohorts are still building, so subject choice breadth at A-Level is worth asking about specifically. The rapid growth that is a positive signal for demand can also bring operational growing pains - staff hiring, resource allocation and consistency of leadership are all worth probing on a visit. Fees run from MYR 22,500 (Nursery) to MYR 48,500 (Sixth Form), which is mid-market for an A-Level school in this area.
What parents value
- –Full Cambridge pathway from EYFS to A-Levels in one school; Duke of Edinburgh Award programme; 30+ nationalities in a rapidly growing community.
- –Horizon Hills Country Club access included - swimming, badminton and golf facilities beyond what a typical school campus provides at this price point.
- –Active PSG, monthly parent Coffee Mornings and strong community engagement for a school that opened in 2023. FabLab with 3D printers and maker equipment.
Points of consideration
- –School opened January 2023 - no A-Level graduates yet and limited IGCSE track record. Ask for any available results data before committing for older children.
- –Rapid growth can stretch resources; visit during a normal school day to assess class sizes, subject availability at senior level, and staff experience.
