Reviews
- TED Istanbul College is part of the Türk Eğitim Derneği group of private Turkish schools, founded in Istanbul in 1998, following the Turkish national curriculum with IB and AP options.
- Independent parent voice on the open web is thin; the school does not surface in forum threads under its own name. The wider TED group is occasionally mentioned in Turkey threads as a recognisable private brand alongside Bahçeşehir Koleji.
- The longest piece of independent commentary on TED Istanbul comes from an International Schools Review extract that describes a beautiful campus in a wealthy gated Bosphorus community with strong technology provision, but the review then moves into critique that is paywalled.
- One older Reddit comment from a teacher who taught at a TED Koleji elsewhere in Istanbul described pay and life as good but student behaviour as challenging because of family wealth dynamics.
- Parent activity around school events, theme presentations, athletics, drama and MUN is a recurring positive on listings.
- Accreditation is national rather than international: budget control sits with Turkish administrators and the school operates under the Turkish Ministry of Education.
- Treat positive signal as listing-aligned and structural; independent parent voice is too thin to anchor a stronger summary.
Positives
- TED group recognition. TED Koleji is a recognisable Turkish private school brand. Wider Turkey threads name it alongside Bahçeşehir as a known private network.
- Campus and facilities. Beykoz site in a wealthy gated community on the Bosphorus, with smart boards, networked computers and ceiling-mounted projectors.
- Programme breadth. Turkish national curriculum running alongside IB and AP options; co-curricular includes athletics, drama, folk dance and MUN.
- Parent involvement. Parents host classroom theme days and are present at presentations and ceremonies.
Considerations
- National rather than international accreditation. School sits under the Turkish Ministry of Education; budget control sits with Turkish administrators.
- Older teacher commentary on student behaviour. An older Reddit comment from a teacher at a different TED Koleji site cited challenging student behaviour tied to family wealth dynamics.
- Thin independent forum signal. No usable forum threads on TED Istanbul College specifically; bulk of public review content is on directories.
