In Brief

Kilittasi is the only school on the Asian side offering a dual Turkish MEB and Canadian OSSD credential, which opens a specific university pathway that neither Cambridge nor IB provides in the same way. If you are on the Asian side and the Canadian pathway matters, this is where the research starts.

Kilittasi Schools was founded in 2013 by Keystone International Schools as a sister institution in Uskudar, and the family resemblance is clear: WASC accreditation, Round Square membership, Canadian dual-diploma focus, and an Asian-side location close to Keystone's primary campus. The school runs from age 2 through Grade 12 and offers French from age 4, making it trilingual in practice for students who stay through secondary. The high school programme only started in the 2025-2026 academic year, so the secondary track is new - worth asking about the first graduating cohort and their university destinations when they become available.

The student body of around 250 students from 12 nationalities is 78% Turkish, which is similar to ENKA's demographic but in a smaller community. The school sits in Kucuk Camlica in Uskudar, which is well-placed for families in Uskudar, Kadikoy, and Atasehir - a similar catchment to Keystone and Istanbul International School. Average class sizes of 18 (max 22) are at the larger end for Istanbul's private international schools, but still below the 24-25 typical of larger Turkish private schools. The DELF-DALF exam centre status for French is a genuine differentiator for families with a French connection or those planning university in a French-speaking context.

Fees run from TRY 420,000 for half-day playgroup to TRY 1,105,000 for primary grades, roughly US$13K-34K at current rates - competitive with Keystone and below the Wave 1 schools at equivalent stages. Meals are charged separately at approximately TRY 210,000-225,000 per year, which is worth factoring into comparisons. Entry requires an evaluation, unlike Keystone which does not. The Canadian OSSD credential gives graduates a North American-recognised diploma alongside the Turkish MEB - the same structural logic as Keystone, but through a different school in a slightly different location on the Asian side.

What parents value
  • Turkish MEB and Canadian OSSD dual diploma - the only school on the Asian side with this combination. Graduates hold a credential recognised by Canadian and US universities alongside the Turkish national diploma. WASC-accredited and Round Square member.
  • French from age 4 and DELF-DALF exam centre status - genuine trilingual provision (English, Turkish, French) from early years. Uncommon in Istanbul and meaningful for families with French university or professional plans.
  • Fees from US$13K-34K position Kilittasi as a more accessible entry point than the Wave 1 schools, with sibling structure and WASC accreditation at a price point that suits self-funding families on the Asian side.
Points of consideration
  • The high school programme only launched in 2025-2026. There are no published graduate university results yet. Ask the school about their first cohort of Grade 12 students and follow up when outcomes are available before enrolling a secondary-age child.
  • Entry requires an evaluation, which means enrolment is not guaranteed. Confirm the evaluation format, the language of assessment, and what support is available for EAL students before relying on a place.
  • Meals are charged separately at approximately TRY 210,000-225,000 per year - add this to the published fee when comparing against schools that include lunch. The all-in cost is higher than the headline tuition figure suggests.
