Westlink International School opened in 2022 as the IB-focused arm of International Schools Partnership's Hanoi presence, on a 2.5-hectare LOTUS-certified green campus in the Tay Ho Tay area of Bac Tu Liem district. The school is an authorised IB World School for the Primary Years Programme and is building towards the MYP and IBDP, with the Diploma Programme now open for Grades 9-10. Facilities are a genuine strength: a 600-seat auditorium, indoor swimming pool, STEAM lab, dedicated arts and drama studios, and a full sports track stand out for a school this young. ISP membership - a UK-based network of 52 schools across 15 countries - brings curriculum support and exchange programmes that single-site schools cannot offer.
Independent parent reviews rate the school highly. Three reviews on International Schools Database give a consistent picture: teachers who know individual children, genuine academic progress, and an IB inquiry model that parents from both expat and Vietnamese backgrounds find effective. Class sizes average 18 with a maximum of 25. The bilingual Vietnamese stream (combining MOET and US curriculum standards) alongside the IB track means the school can serve both expat families and Vietnamese families aiming for international or local university entry, which gives it a broader recruitment base than purely expat-facing schools.
The honest trade-off is history. Westlink opened in 2022, and the IBDP cohort completing full examinations will be its first. There is no published results record for the Diploma Programme yet, and the community - while warm by all accounts - is still developing the depth that comes from years of alumni and long-standing parent networks. Families whose children are two or three years from IBDP examinations should ask the school directly about the DP subject range available in their child's graduation year.
