AGS delivers the National Curriculum for England from Early Years through A-Levels, with distinctive STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, Maths) and Junior MBA programmes. The school integrates Entrepreneurial Leadership through partnership with Sands Centre USA, focusing on creative problem-solving and project-based challenges. Teaching methods include the Harkness discussion-based approach, while the curriculum covers standard British pathways including GCSEs and A-Levels alongside enrichment through ASDAN accredited programmes.

The purpose-built campus near Discovery Gardens Metro station received Outstanding ratings for facilities and premises in the 2022-23 SPEA inspection. Principal Andrew Wilson brings experience from Outstanding-rated schools including Jumeirah College, leading a diverse teaching staff where 21% are native English speakers. The school achieved ACE (Association of Character Education) accreditation in January 2026, emphasizing character development alongside academic achievement. As part of the broader Al Furjan educational hub, AGS offers families a newer option with strong early leadership but limited track record compared to Dubai's established British schools.

Strengths

  • Outstanding SPEA ratings for leadership, management and facilities in first inspection
  • Experienced principal Andrew Wilson from Outstanding-rated Dubai schools
  • Distinctive STREAM and Entrepreneurial Leadership programmes
  • Purpose-built facilities near Metro station for accessibility
  • More affordable fees compared to premium Arcadia British School
  • ACE accreditation for character education focus
  • Strong early staff retention and development programmes

Considerations

  • Very new school with limited academic track record or results data
  • No established university placement outcomes yet
  • Teaching staff experience averages 3-5 years, lower than some premium schools
  • Limited parent community discussions or feedback available
  • SPEA rated Quality of Education as 'Good with outstanding features' rather than Outstanding overall

Opened in Al Furjan in September 2023 under founding head Andrew Wilson and grew from 800 pupils to over 2,250 by early 2026, with the secondary building opening for 2025-26 and KS4 (IGCSE and BTEC) slated for September 2026. The April 2025 BSO inspection by Penta International judged the school good with outstanding features and praised behaviour, leadership and parental engagement. Parent feedback is unusually warm for a school this young, anchored on a family-feel community, an open-door leadership style, and strong perceived value at the AED 26,000 to 34,000 fee band. The watch-items are the ones a new school carries: writing standards still being tightened, performing arts not yet at the level of the established Dubai field, and operational gaps around parking and after-school transport.

Positives

  • Community and leadership. Open-door style from the founding head, who is visible at drop-off and pick-up. The 'AGS family' framing comes up consistently in parent commentary and the BSO inspection echoed it as a defining strength.
  • Value for money. Fees of AED 25,865 to 33,788 sit well below the established Dubai British field, and parents rate value highly against the facilities and pastoral provision.
  • Facilities. Purpose-built campus next to Al Furjan Metro with a semi-Olympic pool, astroturf and performing arts spaces. The BSO inspection flagged the build quality as a genuine strength.
  • Behaviour and pastoral. Behaviour was rated outstanding at the 2025 BSO inspection. Pupil wellbeing surveys run high and bullying concerns are reported as low against UAE norms.

Considerations

  • Still a new school. Secondary only opened for 2025-26 and the school currently runs to Year 9. KS4 starts in September 2026 and sixth form follows, so there is no track record yet on IGCSE, BTEC or A Level outcomes.
  • Writing standards. The BSO inspectors flagged inconsistent handwriting in KS1 and KS2 and asked for stronger structure in secondary writing. A development point rather than a finding against the standards, but a real one.
  • Performing and fine arts. Roughly half the parent pool sees arts as above average but not yet among the elite Dubai providers, which fits a school that has only just opened its secondary.
  • Parking and transport. Parents flag the absence of dedicated parent parking and the lack of late buses for children staying for clubs. Metro access mitigates this for older pupils, not for early years.

Leadership

Andrew Wilson

Andrew Wilson is the Founding Principal of Arcadia Global School in Dubai, where he successfully launched the largest Primary school in KHDA history with over 1000 students on opening, achieving +68. 1 NPS, an excellent KHDA review, and strong BSME feedback.

Accreditations

  • British Schools Overseas (DfE) 01

  • Result No results published as the school opened in September 2023 and currently only offers up to Year 9
  • Result Year 10 is scheduled to open in September 2026 with the first IGCSE cohort completing in 2028.
