Led by founding principal Ruth Burke, who brings over 30 years of educational leadership across Ireland, UK, and UAE institutions including Swiss International Scientific School Dubai and GEMS Wellington International School, the school represents Bridge Education's most ambitious project to date. The group currently operates three UAE schools serving 4,500+ students from over 90 nationalities, with their flagship Ambassador International Academy in Al Khail achieving KHDA Good status with Very Good and Outstanding features.

The school will launch with Grade 8 in August 2026, expanding gradually to offer the full IB continuum through Grade 12. Specializing in AI, Digital, Business Innovation, and Start-ups, it fills a notable gap for families in central Dubai areas including City Walk, Downtown Dubai, La Mer, and Bur Dubai, where IB options have historically been limited. The purpose-built Mankhool campus and mid-to-upper tier fee structure of AED 65,000-95,000 positions it as a credible new option in Dubai's competitive IB sector.

Strengths

  • Experienced founding principal with 30+ years leadership across prestigious Dubai schools
  • Backed by established Bridge Education group with strong track record
  • Addresses significant gap in central Dubai's IB school options
  • Purpose-built campus designed for modern international education
  • Specialization in future-focused subjects like AI and digital innovation
  • Founding family discounts available during launch phase

Considerations

  • School hasn't opened yet - track record will develop over time
  • Initial launch with only Grade 8, requiring several years to reach full capacity
  • KHDA approval still pending for August 2026 opening
  • New school requiring time to establish community culture and traditions
  • Limited facilities information available until campus completion

Ambassador positions itself as Dubai's accessibly priced full IB Continuum, and that pitch lands with most of the families who write about it. KHDA has rated the school Good with Very Good features at three consecutive inspections, with curriculum design, care and support, and student wellbeing called out. The founding principal has been in post since opening in 2019, and teacher retention runs well above the city norm. Parents flag school bus pricing and the morning routine as the most consistent friction. Arabic and Islamic outcomes have been called out for development, and the first IB Diploma cohort only sits exams in 2026, so there is no senior results record yet.

Positives

  • Affordable IB Continuum. Full PYP through DP plus CP and BTEC at fees that sit below most of the Dubai IB market. Parents repeatedly frame the school as good value for the curriculum on offer.
  • Pastoral care and welcome. Morning registration teachers double as pastoral first port of call, buddy systems support new arrivals, and families joining mid-year talk about a quick settle. Wellbeing infrastructure including counsellors and the Upstrive app is well used.
  • Stable leadership and staff. Founding principal still in post since 2019. Teacher retention runs around 95 percent, well above the city average, which parents notice in continuity from year to year.
  • KHDA track record. Good with Very Good features at the most recent inspection in March 2024, the third consecutive Good rating. Curriculum design and care are the standout strands.

Considerations

  • School transport. Bus pricing draws regular complaints, with parents calling it high for the service delivered. Route times and pick-up coordination come up as the operational gripes.
  • Arabic and Islamic outcomes. Inspectors have repeatedly flagged Islamic Education and Arabic as areas for development against the rest of the curriculum. Families for whom these strands matter should read the latest inspection in detail.
  • Senior school still maturing. First IB Diploma cohort sits exams in 2026, so there is no published DP average yet. MYP results have come in strong, with the school reporting a mean subject grade well above the IB world average.
  • Facilities versus premium peers. Rooftop pitch, pool, 600 seat hall, STEAM and design labs are all in place. The site does not have the marquee build of the more expensive Dubai IB campuses, and parent reviews are honest about that.
