A mid-size IB and Cambridge school in Sahakar Nagar, north Bangalore, founded in 2007 and run on a close-knit, community-feel model rather than a sprawling campus model.

Trio runs the IB PYP, Cambridge IGCSE and IB Diploma, with a separate ICSE wing called Trio World School on the same site. The defining feature is scale: small enough that teachers know children individually, parent community is tight, Diploma students get genuine counsellor attention. Diversity is real, with students from over twenty countries, and the school has a working day-and-boarding setup.

Academics and pastoral care draw consistent praise, with caring teachers and a homely feel cited often. Friction sits in the admissions and management layer, with slow admissions response, fee disputes, and limited responsiveness when students struggle academically. Fees run roughly INR 3 lakh to INR 8.75 lakh. Best fit for families who want a more intimate community than TISB or Stonehill, and who accept the back-office experience can be patchy.

One of the earlier IB authorisations in north Bangalore, Trio sits on Kodigehalli Main Road in Sahakar Nagar and runs the full PYP, Cambridge lower secondary, IGCSE and IB Diploma stack from a single, relatively small campus. The school leans into that smaller scale: parents describe a close, family-feeling atmosphere where teachers know children by name and pastoral attention is the main thing people remember. IB Diploma results sit consistently above the global average and university counselling is a recognised strength. Where Trio attracts friction it tends to be admin-side rather than classroom-side, with the admissions desk and fee-communication process picking up most of the complaints.

Positives

  • Small, close-knit atmosphere. Parents repeatedly describe Trio as smaller and more personal than the bigger Bangalore international names. Teachers know children individually, and the school reads as homely rather than corporate.
  • Teacher quality and continuity. Faculty are described as warm, accessible and willing to give individual support. A favourable student-to-teacher ratio and reasonable staff continuity come through in parent accounts.
  • IB Diploma outcomes and university counselling. IGCSE and IB DP results sit consistently above the global average, and the in-house university guidance function is one of the most frequently praised parts of the senior school.
  • Pastoral care and well-being. Pastoral attention is a clear strength. An on-campus medical room with nursing cover, the QS I-Gauge 'Institution of Happiness' tag, and a generally supportive tone toward children who need extra help all come up.

Considerations

  • Admissions desk and management communication. The most consistent complaint is on the admissions and front-office side. Parents talk about slow responses, an inflexible tone from the admissions team, and being redirected to the website rather than getting a direct answer.
  • Fees and one-off costs. Tuition sits in the middle of the Bangalore IB range, but parents flag that admission fees and the list of items excluded from tuition, exam fees, trips, after-school activities, ESL and SEN add-ons, can stack up beyond the headline number.
  • Two-name confusion. Trio World Academy (IB, the school here) and Trio World School (ICSE, a separate sister school on the same group) share a campus footprint and brand, which trips families up at the enquiry stage.
