International Schools in Bangkok Under THB 600,000
The THB 600,000 ceiling opens up most of Bangkok's mid-tier international market. Over fifty schools sit under this line, spanning British, American, IB, and Cambridge programmes across every district.
# International Schools in Bangkok Under THB 600,000
Bangkok · Fees & Costs
THB 600,000 is the dividing line in Bangkok's international school market. Above it sit the long-established premium names: NIST, ISB, Bangkok Patana, Shrewsbury, Harrow, Brighton College. Below it sits almost everyone else, and "almost everyone" turns out to be a long list. Over fifty schools keep their top-year tuition under this number.
The range inside the bracket is wider than in most cities we cover. At the bottom, kindergartens and primary-only schools charge under THB 100,000. At the top, established British and American schools with CIS accreditation and published A-Level or AP results sit just below the THB 600,000 line. The schools at THB 550,000 are not comparable to the schools at THB 150,000, and pretending otherwise helps no one.

What This Bracket Looks Like
Bangkok's under-THB 600,000 market splits into three layers, and the layers do not blur into each other as smoothly as the sorted table implies.
The bottom layer runs from about THB 80,000 to THB 200,000. These are predominantly bilingual schools, faith-based schools (Adventist, Christian, Catholic), early-years specialists, and feeder primaries. Many carry Thai Ministry of Education (OBEC) registration and ONESQA accreditation rather than international accreditation. Class sizes can be larger, teaching teams are heavier on Thai staff, and English is the medium for academic subjects but not always for the playground. For families who want an international-curriculum start without paying expat fees, this layer exists in a way that does not exist in Singapore, Hong Kong, or Tokyo.
The middle layer covers THB 200,000 to THB 400,000. This is where most of the smaller British and American schools live: Ramkhamhaeng Advent, Glory Singapore, International Pioneers, Trinity, Bangkok Christian International. Several offer Cambridge IGCSE or AP. WASC accreditation appears more often than CIS. Class sizes tend toward 18 to 22. Facilities are usually purpose-built but compact.
The top layer, THB 400,000 to THB 600,000, is where the bracket meets the premium tier. Garden International School, Heathfield, Traill, Charter, AISB, Ascot, and the Lycée Français all sit here. Several hold CIS, BSO, or COBIS accreditation. Several publish meaningful A-Level, IGCSE, or IB results. The gap to the THB 700,000–900,000 schools above is real, but it is no longer the gulf it was a decade ago.
Geography is unusually spread. Unlike Singapore or Hong Kong, where international schools cluster, Bangkok's bracket reaches into Pathum Thani in the north, Samut Prakan in the south, and Nonthaburi to the west. Sukhumvit, Sathorn, and Bang Na carry the bulk of city-centre options. Families in the suburbs gain choice; families committed to a 20-minute commute lose it.
Capital fees matter. Headline tuition rarely captures the all-in cost. A typical Bangkok international school adds a registration fee (THB 30,000–80,000), a one-time capital or development fee (THB 100,000–400,000), an annual facilities or technology levy (THB 10,000–40,000), bus (THB 40,000–80,000), meals (THB 25,000–50,000), uniform, and exam entry. For a school listed at THB 500,000, the first-year total can reach THB 700,000 once everything is paid in. Ask each school for the full fee schedule before comparing.
ONESQA tells you less than you think. Most schools in this bracket carry ONESQA quality assurance, the Thai national accreditation. It is mandatory for OBEC-registered schools and confirms that a school meets the Ministry of Education baseline. It does not signal international standing. For that, look for CIS, NEASC, WASC, BSO, or COBIS membership.
Schools That Stand Out
With over fifty schools in the bracket, families need a way to filter. The list below is not a ranking. It picks schools that serve a specific need or fill a distinct gap.
Beaconhouse Yamsaard International School (BYIS) is the clearest IB value proposition in the bracket. Holds CIS and NEASC accreditation. Published IB Diploma average of 38 points in 2024, with 52% A* or A at A-Level. Both numbers sit well above the global IB average of around 30. THB 255,614 high end puts it firmly in the lower-middle of the bracket. For families who want IB outcomes without the THB 800,000+ tuition of NIST or ISB, this is where the conversation starts.
Heathfield International School (HISB) holds CIS and NEASC accreditation, the strongest external endorsements available to a Bangkok school. British curriculum, top fee THB 511,700. The school publishes Cambridge "Top in Thailand" and "Top in South East Asia" awards, which speak to depth of academic performance rather than just headline pass rates.
Traill International School carries BSO, CIS, NEASC, COBIS Patrons, and BSME affiliations. A British school founded in 1962, making it one of the older international schools in Bangkok. THB 558,000 top fee. Suits families who want continuity with the British system and care about the historical track record of teacher recruitment.
Garden International School, Bangkok posts 100% A-Level pass rate (2022) with 63% A or A grades, and 92% IGCSE A-C. British curriculum, Sathorn location. THB 514,000 high end. The published exam data is unusually detailed for the bracket.
Roong Aroon International School offers the full IB continuum (DP, MYP, CP) at THB 450,000. Published 2025 IB DP average of 34 with a 94% pass rate. The Career-related Programme is rare in Bangkok, which makes Roong Aroon useful for families whose children are not on a pure academic pathway.
Lycée Français International de Bangkok (LFIB) is the only realistic option for francophone families wanting the French Baccalauréat. AEFE-accredited, 2025 results show 15 mentions Très Bien at the Baccalauréat. THB 527,700 high end. Niche, but essential for its audience.
Australian International School Bangkok (AISB) combines a British curriculum with Australian connections, CIS-accredited, Sukhumvit location. THB 520,000 top fee. A useful option for Australian families repatriating to or from the region.
Ramkhamhaeng Advent International School (RAIS) sits in a lower band at THB 230,000, but the published outcomes are unusually strong for the price. SAT average of 1343 (highest 1530) and IELTS average of 7.0 for the 2024-2025 school year. American curriculum with AP. WASC-accredited. For families on a tight budget who still want demonstrable outcomes, this is one of the harder schools to ignore.
Charter International School is CIS and WASC accredited, FOBISIA-affiliated, with a top fee of THB 594,000. British curriculum, Prawet location. Sits at the very top of the bracket and effectively competes upward with schools priced at THB 700,000+.
TSI International School in Samut Prakan posts 50% A or A and 92% A-C at IGCSE for 2023-24, with an AS Level "First Place in Thailand" award. CIS-accredited. THB 376,500 top fee. Strong outcomes for the price and the geography opens up for families in the southern corridor.
What Separates THB 200,000 from THB 550,000
The gap inside this bracket is wider than the gap between brackets in other cities. Three factors carry most of the difference.
Accreditation. At the top of the bracket, CIS, NEASC, BSO, and COBIS appear repeatedly. CIS in particular involves an external review of governance, safeguarding, learning outcomes, and continuous improvement. Below THB 300,000, accreditation is usually limited to WASC (which is meaningful but less rigorous than CIS in international school terms) or to Thai national bodies (OBEC, ONESQA). The presence of CIS at this price point is a signal that a school is operating at a level that overlaps with the premium tier.
Published exam results. Schools in the top half of the bracket increasingly publish detailed IGCSE, A-Level, AP, and IB outcomes. Schools in the bottom half rarely do. Where results are not published, ask why. The answer ("we are too small to benchmark," "we use internal assessment," "we are newly authorised") may be reasonable, but it should be given.
Teacher recruitment. A THB 550,000 school is paying expatriate teachers at a level that competes with the lower end of Singapore and the Middle East. A THB 200,000 school is recruiting from a thinner pool: newer teachers, teachers earlier in their international career, or strong Thai-trained bilingual staff. Neither is automatically worse, but the recruitment economics shape the staffroom.
A fourth factor matters less than families assume: campus size. Several schools in this bracket sit on compact urban plots in Sukhumvit or Sathorn. They have less green space than schools in Pathum Thani or Samut Prakan but better transport access and shorter commutes. For families in central Bangkok, that swap usually makes sense.

FAQs
Which schools in this bracket publish the strongest IB results? Beaconhouse Yamsaard reports an IB Diploma average of 38 points in 2024, which is genuinely strong. Roong Aroon posts a 2025 average of 34 with a 94% pass rate. The global IB average sits around 30. Several other schools in the bracket are IB-authorised but do not publish results.
Are there any CIS-accredited schools under THB 600,000? Yes. Beaconhouse Yamsaard, Heathfield, Traill, TSI, Australian International School Bangkok, Charter, and Ascot all hold CIS accreditation. CIS is the most meaningful international school accreditation: it covers governance, teaching quality, student welfare, and learning outcomes.
What is ONESQA and does it matter? ONESQA is the Office for National Education Standards and Quality Assessment, the Thai government body that audits schools registered with OBEC (the Ministry of Education). Most schools in this bracket carry ONESQA accreditation because Thai law requires it for OBEC-registered institutions. It confirms that a school meets the Thai national baseline. It does not measure international standing, so use it as a floor and look for CIS, NEASC, WASC, BSO, or COBIS on top.
How does the all-in cost compare to the headline tuition? Expect to add 15% to 40% on top of published tuition. Registration, capital or development fees, technology levies, bus, meals, uniform, and exam entries are typically charged separately. A school listed at THB 500,000 can reach THB 650,000 to THB 700,000 in the first year once capital fees are paid in. Ask each school for the full fee schedule before comparing on tuition alone.
I want a school in central Sukhumvit. What are my options? Bangkok Adventist, Glory Singapore, Modern International, BSB British International Primary, Future Steps, Wells, and Australian International School Bangkok all sit in Sukhumvit. Ekamai and Kids' Academy sit in adjacent Phra Khanong.
What about families in the suburbs? Pathum Thani has AIT International School, Satit Bilingual School of Rangsit University, Invictus, and Thai International School. Samut Prakan has Raffles American School and TSI. Nonthaburi has Knightsbridge House, International Christian School Nonthaburi, and Rose Marie Academy. Suburban options often deliver more space and lower fees but longer commutes.
Are there schools at exactly THB 600,000? Several schools sit just below the ceiling: Charter at THB 594,000, Ascot at THB 594,969, and St Andrews Dusit at THB 593,000. They are included because they do not exceed the THB 600,000 line. All three operate at a quality level that overlaps with schools priced THB 100,000 higher.
