Rietberg Montessori School

A small state-accredited Montessori day school on Seestrasse, running mixed-age classes through age 12 in German and English. Best for families committed to the Montessori method and willing to do the homework on individual teacher fit.

Three lower elementary classes for 6 to 9 year olds and two upper elementary classes for 9 to 12 year olds. Roughly one teacher per ten to twelve children. Curriculum covers the canton Zurich requirements and adds Montessori-specific work on top, with transfer to Swiss secondary schools at the end.

Parent voice is genuinely mixed. The positive thread is consistent on the homely atmosphere, the bilingual classroom, and strong preparation for secondary work. The critical thread points at school management, handling of bullying, teacher favouritism, and food.
