A long-running family-owned Montessori network across central Zurich, AMI-trained teachers, covering preschool through primary in a trilingual setting.

D'Insle was founded in 1992 and is run alongside its sister school Sprungbrett, with seven sites between them. The schools follow Maria Montessori's curriculum and the Zurich public Lehrplan 21, taught in German, English and French depending on the location and age group. The network covers ages 0 to 12, so families can stay across pre-kindergarten, kindergarten and primary without changing operator.

Music and movement are woven into the week from kindergarten onward, with violin, piano, gymnastics and swimming on the timetable. The setting is small and neighbourhood-based rather than a single large campus, which is the appeal for families wanting a calmer alternative to the big international names. Parents describe a settled feel and long teacher tenure. The school stops at primary, so families need a secondary plan whether they continue in the Swiss system or move into the international stream.

  • Parent signal is small but consistently positive, focused on a calm, family-like atmosphere and children developing independence.
  • The trilingual model (German base, English and French in every classroom) is the most cited reason families enrol; it is the only AMI/AMS-licensed trilingual Montessori network in canton Zurich.
  • Parents praise quality of food, in-house cooking and the structure of after-school care, alongside teachers who run violin, piano, gym and swimming alongside academics.
  • The Pre-Kindergarten arm holds a 100/100 Qualikita score and has done for several years, which is the strongest external endorsement on file.
  • No critical reviews surfaced in English, German or French sources; the small reviewer pool means the absence of negative signal is itself only moderate evidence.
