Green Oasis School

A small, well-regarded bilingual primary school in Tianmian Village, Futian, running an adapted English National Curriculum for ages 5 to 10 and feeding into a dedicated middle school next door.

Green Oasis runs Years 1 to 6 with English as the language of instruction and Chinese taught daily, aiming for genuine bilingualism. The curriculum is an adapted UK National Curriculum and Year 6 leavers can transfer to Shenzhen Oasis International School, which carries the same approach into the middle years and adds Chinese curriculum mathematics. Foreign and Chinese teachers work alongside each other in the classroom.

The community is unusually mixed for a Shenzhen private primary, with both expat and local families and a happy, settled feel by most accounts. Reviews are broadly positive and the administration is described as responsive. Families looking at Green Oasis are usually weighing it against Shekou International School Lower Primary or the international primary sections of ISNS and SCIS, with the call coming down to whether bilingual depth and the smaller scale matter more than the all-through option of the larger schools.

• Parent and former-staff voices describe a small British-curriculum primary in Futian. One parent on the expat.com forum praised a new principal as "skilled and very dynamic" and credited her with raising standards after a stretch of poor administration. The same review described the previous principal as having a "rude attitude towards parents".
• The school splits around 2019 into Green Oasis (primary, years 1-6) and Shenzhen Oasis School (middle school to year 9), per a former staff member. Curriculum is British, not IB.
• A separate parent post said they had "heard good things about Green Oasis" but found the school full when looking for places.
• A 2015 industry-forum post characterised the school as a budget operation at the lower end of the Shenzhen international-school pay scale and questioned its accreditation depth. That commentary is older and predates the post-2019 split and leadership changes.
