Full IB Continuum bilingual school in Vila Leopoldina, founded in 2010 and now around 1,400 students across three units, with the first DP cohort graduating in 2023.

Beacon is the rare Sao Paulo school running PYP, MYP and DP in one continuum, taught bilingually in Portuguese and English. The school identifies as Brazilian first and international second, with the national curriculum threaded through the IB framework and Brazilian history, geography and literature kept as core. The result is a strong fit for Brazilian families wanting an IB pathway without losing the national diploma, less so for expats wanting an English-medium environment.

The Vila Leopoldina campus opened in 2018 and is the main draw alongside the Villa and Berlioz units for younger children. Parent voice is positive on curriculum strength and technology resources. The cohort is light on international diversity, around 10 nationalities in a 1,400 student body, so families looking for an expat community typically pick Graded, St Pauls or Avenues instead. Fees sit in the upper-mid tier of Sao Paulo bilingual schools.

Fee Age Type Amount
Early Childhood (Age 2-5) 2 Annual R$85,000
Fundamental I - II (Age 6-14) 6 Annual R$120,000
High School (Age 15-18) 15 Annual R$153,000

  • Independent parent commentary online is very limited. The few directory reviews are short, dated, and uniformly five-star, with the most concrete being a Portuguese-language the reviewer studies at the school and considers it the best they know.
  • Practical anchors recur. The school sits on Rua Mergenthaler in Vila Leopoldina, runs an IB continuum (PYP, MYP, DP) with a bilingual Portuguese-English model, and graduated its first IB Diploma cohort in 2023.
  • The independent signal is too thin to surface common themes about pastoral care, management, or specific outcomes.
