A K-12 international school in Bien Hoa with a partnership with Marianapolis Preparatory School in Connecticut and operated by Vietnam's Nguyen Hoang Group through its International Schools of North America division, the first fully international school in Dong Nai province.

The campus runs to roughly 33,400 square metres and is built around a 9-storey Sulina boarding dorm with 447 beds, a 680-seat theatre, a FIFA-standard football field, a covered pool and science labs. SNA Marianapolis sits in the small group of IB Continuum schools in Vietnam and runs an American-style programme with the Marianapolis brand framing the senior years. Tuition runs roughly 238 to 413 million VND.

Family feedback flags the boarding offer and the language gains, with parents describing children becoming visibly more confident in English and more independent after a year on campus. Foreign teachers and the spacious facilities draw repeat mention. The school is comparatively young and growth has been part of the plan, so families should press on staff stability and the senior-year pathway through to actual US university outcomes.

  • Teacher signal consistently splits the two SNA Marianapolis campuses: the older Saigon (HCMC) campus draws sharper criticism, while the newer Bien Hoa campus is described more positively.
  • One ex-teacher who worked at the school for two years wrote that workload was "much more reasonable" than at later employers and that they had "a lot more freedom to control my lessons". Another said the head of school was "great" but that the board of directors "didn't let them have any say".
  • Heavy criticism centres on governance and ownership. Multiple posts describe alleged Covid-era financial pressure, including one teacher claiming SNA-Marianapolis "blackmailed me to sign a resignation based off Reddit comments". Ownership ties to NHG, a biotech parent, are flagged as a recurring concern.
  • Accreditation status is mixed and recent: the school is pursuing NEASC accreditation but was not accredited at the point earlier teacher posts were written.
  • Parent-side material online is dominated by school-controlled testimonials. Independent parent voice is thin, so the picture leans on staff perspective and on the school's American curriculum, AP/SAT pathway and boarding option.

Head of school

Joseph Cloutier

Joseph Cloutier leads SNA Marianapolis with a student-centered educational philosophy developed over three decades. He emphasizes that good teachers have students who are engaged, are positive in interactions and communication and there is a palpable buzz going on in the room. His approach prioritizes giving students voice, choice, and ownership in their learning journey, moving away from rote memorization toward progressive, modern teaching methods that foster academic excellence alongside character development and integrity.
