An established Saudi-owned school near the King Fahad Cultural Centre, founded in 1998, running both British and American pathways across separate boys' and girls' sections.

Set up by Prince Abdullah bin Mosaad bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Tomader M. Ayad, Al Oruba is COGNIA-accredited, has held IGCSE provision in the past and now centres on the American Diploma route alongside its British stream. The campus is one of the larger ones in central Riyadh, with a swimming pool, theatre, gym, racket sports area and outdoor sports fields, and student numbers run above 3,000 from age 5 to 18.

Word of mouth among long-tenured Saudi families is generally warm, especially for the kindergarten section, where the focus on character, balanced bilingual instruction and steady teaching staff comes up consistently. The school skews local rather than embassy-circuit and is most often weighed against other established Riyadh names rather than the newer premium British set in the north of the city.

  • Founded 1998 by HRH Prince Abdullah bin Mosaad, the school sits in central Riyadh and runs UK National Curriculum and US Common Core lines. One Saudi schools tracker carries strongly positive parent feedback; another is more mixed.
  • One parent praised consistent academic progress and "dedicated teachers who go above and beyond". Another singled out the kindergarten as "more than wonderful" for character-building and discipline. A long-tenure parent of 13 years called it "one of the leading schools in Riyadh".
  • One parent on YaSchools wrote of a "very negative experience" and was waiting for the school year to end so they could transfer. Another flagged disorganised registration and an unconfigured Classter parent portal despite paid fees, plus weak preparation for the IGCSE transition.
  • One Arabic-language reviewer wrote that "Al Oruba has become just a name", flagging perceived decline from earlier reputation.
  • Facilities (swimming pool, theatre, gym) and the Egyptian community come up repeatedly as draw factors.
