In brief
Bilingual Czech-English grammar school in Prague 4 Krc, part of the long-running PORG group that opened the first non-state school in Czechoslovakia in 1990. The Novy PORG campus opened in 2008 and runs Cambridge IGCSE alongside the Czech gymnasium track and finishes with the IB Diploma.
Teaching is split between Czech and native-speaker English staff, with subjects taught in both languages from the lower years. The eighty-plus extracurricular activities are included in the basic fee, which is unusual at this price point in Prague. Communication with families runs through a parent portal that flags weekly schedules and progress. The school operates a needs-based scholarship fund for academically strong applicants whose families cannot pay full fees.
Families looking at New PORG are usually weighing it against a fully international British or IB school. The trade-off is real. New PORG slots students into the Czech academic system as well as a global IB pathway, which suits bicultural and Czech-returning families. Pure expat families on shorter postings often find a fully English-medium school a smoother fit.

Reviews
- Bilingual non-state gymnasium and primary in Prague Krc, set up in 2008 alongside the older Liben campus and run on a Czech-English curriculum culminating in the IB Diploma.
- Czech parent forums describe the workload as heavy and the admissions process as demanding and earlier than other Prague schools; one parent flagged enormous performance pressure.
- Students who do well speak warmly of a small, family-feel school where pupils and faculty know one another personally; alumni point to strong IB outcomes and university placement support.
- The student body is overwhelmingly Czech with a minority from bilingual families; expat-circuit Reddit signal is sparse.
- Recent online discussion is in Czech parenting forums (Rodina.cz, Zkousky-nanecisto) more than English-language expat boards.
