A small bilingual Czech-British school in Prague's Old Town offering the Czech curriculum alongside Cambridge IGCSE and a choice between IB Diploma and Czech Maturita in years 12 and 13.

Leonardo opened in September 2021 and was authorised for the IB Diploma Programme in May 2024, making it one of a handful of Prague private schools with IB DP authorisation. It carries British Schools Overseas recognition and is a COBIS patron member. Sixteen subjects can be sat at IGCSE and the school markets itself on project-based learning and the city as classroom. Its recent BSO inspection report from 2022 is publicly available.

Parent signal is mostly warm. Families talk about engaged children, dedicated teachers, and a small family-feel community where everyone is known. The honest counterweight is at least one strong negative voice citing impact on a child's mental health and weaker value for money than expected, so visiting in person and pressing on pastoral structures matters. The school is still young, so cohort outcomes through IB are still building.

  • Parent reviews skew strongly positive for a school that only opened in 2021 and grew past 100 students within its first year.
  • The recurring praise is for project-based teaching, small-school feel, and teachers who parents describe as "head and shoulders above other schools in Prague."
  • One parent whose daughter had struggled previously said "Moving to Leonardo was the best decision I have made for her."
  • A small but real critical voice exists: one parent rated the school harshly, saying their children's mental health worsened. The review pool is small enough that this matters.
  • IB Diploma authorisation and a positive 2022 BSO inspection add structural ballast; current students can choose IB, Czech Maturita, or both.
