Gymnasium Livingston

Cambridge accredited bilingual gymnasium in Čakovice, Prague 9, that grew out of the Livingston elementary school and now offers a four-year programme combining the Czech Maturita with Cambridge IGCSE and an International Diploma.

The school is in a new purpose-built building and runs at CZK 238,000 a year, well below the headline international schools. It is also an IB candidate school. Admissions use the CAT4 cognitive assessment plus interview rather than ranking children on Czech state gymnasium entrance scores, which is the headline draw for families who feel their child has been miscategorised by the standard test. Independent parent voice is thin because the school is young. The available signal points at small classes, an internationally trained teaching team, and content-and-language integrated lessons. The first cohorts have not yet produced enough graduates to judge the university outcomes from the Cambridge route, and the interplay between Maturita and Cambridge in the upper years is still bedding in.
