A small bilingual Dutch and English pre- and primary school in Karen, running for around 50 years and using the International Primary Curriculum thematic approach.

NSS is the only Dutch-language option in Nairobi and serves a national-international community of roughly 15 nationalities on a green compound on Windy Ridge off Ngong Road in Karen. The school uses the International Primary Curriculum thematically, with small classes that allow extra attention for both special needs and stronger learners. The DB lists 1971 as the founding year, which broadly matches the school's own claim of around 50 years of operation in the city.

Families pick NSS for two reasons. Dutch-speaking expats who want their children to keep Dutch alongside English have nowhere else to go. Other families choose it for the small-class environment, the high parental involvement, the affordability relative to the British-curriculum schools nearby, and the warm community feel. Pupils typically move on to one of the larger international schools after primary.
