A new private day and boarding school in Juja, Kiambu county, that opened in 2024 with a STEM and multi-curriculum pitch covering Cambridge, American, Kenyan, and Islamic Studies tracks.

Soma sits on the outskirts of Nairobi proper, in Juja, and markets itself on a hands-on, project-based STEM approach with active science, technology and robotics clubs. The school runs Cambridge IGCSE, US Common Core, and UK A Level streams alongside the Kenyan curriculum and an Islamic Studies programme. Day and boarding places are both offered. Fees and intake numbers are not yet published in the public databases.

As a school in its first or second year, parent voice is essentially absent online beyond the school's own marketing. Families considering Soma should treat it as a startup: small cohorts, a head and staff finding their rhythm, and curriculum claims that have not yet been tested by external IGCSE or A Level cohorts. Worth a campus visit and a careful look at the actual teaching team before committing for an older child.
