In brief
LFIM is the AEFE-accredited French school of Muscat, founded in 1995 and a full lycée since January 2016 when it gained MOE approval to extend through to baccalaureate. Around 270 students from age 3 to 18 on a campus in Airport Heights near Muscat Hills.
Teaching follows the French Ministry of Education curriculum from kindergarten to Grade 12, with French, English and Arabic taught throughout. From Grades 1 to 9 students can opt into the British International Section, which adds extra English subjects on top of the French core. Students sit the Brevet at Grade 9 and the baccalaureate at Grade 12. Fees run roughly OMR 3,526 to OMR 5,816 a year.
The school pulls a community of around 25 nationalities, dominated by French and Francophone families on Muscat postings. Parents value the rigour of the French curriculum, the trilingual exposure, and the ability to slot back into French universities or the international AEFE network. Best fit for French and Francophone families in Muscat wanting a continuous French-system pathway with strong English and Arabic alongside.
