DPS opened in September 2021 in Bawshar, Muscat, as a small IB-focused school with a digital-first classroom setup. An authorised IB PYP World School from December 2023, with the MYP framework running in Grades 7 to 10.

Class size is capped at 20. The site uses interactive smartboards across all rooms, Chromebooks from Grade 1, and offers robotics and VR. English is the main language of instruction, with Arabic, Islamic Studies and Social Studies taught in Arabic to meet Omani requirements. The student community spans a dozen or so nationalities including Omani, Indian, Russian, Lebanese and several African countries.

Public parent voice on the school is thin given how new it is. The DPS proposition is built around small classes, technology integration and the IB framework rather than legacy or brand. Best fit for families in Muscat who want the IB pathway in a small new setting and value the digital classroom approach over the established names.

  • Independent review signal is essentially absent. Reddit, Mumsnet, and expat.com return no comments; the school is small, recent, and operating largely below the public-discussion threshold.
  • Founded in 2021, the school received IB PYP authorisation in December 2023 and is a candidate for IB MYP and DP.
  • The PYP runs from KG1 to Grade 6 and the MYP framework is in place from Grade 7 to Grade 10. Class size is capped at 20.
  • Public material consists of school PR, Times of Oman coverage, and World Scholar's Cup participation notes; no independent parent or student voices have surfaced.
  • The Muscat market is small, and DPS operates alongside larger established competitors with fuller review profiles.
