A British international school in Cuajimalpa co-founded by Yorkshire-born educator Marian Winpenny, who has taught and led schools in Mexico City for nearly five decades.

Founded in 1992 and on its current Cuajimalpa site since 2004, Winpenny serves around 600 students from age three to grade 12. Curriculum runs through IEYC, IPC, and IMYC into the IB Diploma. Facilities include 36 classrooms, science and music studios, an all-weather football field, and dedicated Early Years and Kinder areas.

Parents value the inclusive ethos, friendly community, and a head teacher who knows children individually. Some staff and parent feedback flags inconsistent management and operational frustrations, set against children who are happy and engaged in lessons and extracurriculars. Smaller scale than Edron or Wingate, which means a more personal experience but a thinner secondary cohort and narrower subject choice in senior years.

  • Parent signal is broadly positive on community, inclusion and pupils feeling happy at school. One parent says their child wakes up wanting to go to school, and another praises friends, learning and extracurricular classes.
  • Staff signal is more mixed. Teachers praise the pupils and colleagues, but several comments flag administration, logistics, classroom materials and management follow-through.
  • The school appears to have a warm community reputation, with the main caution around operational consistency rather than classroom culture.
