A long-running family-run bilingual group with three campuses across Mexico City and roughly 1,800 students, often used as a gateway into the city's international school system.

Founded in 1965 by Ken Peterson's family and still led by him, Peterson runs Cuajimalpa, Lomas, and Pedregal campuses serving preschool through high school. The senior years culminate in the IB Diploma, offered since 2004, alongside Mexican SEP requirements and Cambridge components.

Strongest reputation sits in early years and primary, where parents value passionate teachers and steady bilingual development. Some families step up to a more international school for secondary; others stay through to graduation. Fees are noticeably lower than the top international tier, which is part of the appeal. Each campus has its own character, so visiting the specific one matters more than treating Peterson as a single entity.

  • Established Mexico City group, three campuses, mostly Mexican professional families with a steady international intake. commenters discussing schools in Lomas, Bosques and Santa Fe routinely list Peterson alongside the other recognised bilingual options.
  • Accreditation stack is part of the pitch. One Reddit parent summed up the appeal as US (SAIS), Mexican (SEP) and UK (Cambridge) recognition under one roof, useful for families likely to move on.
  • Parent reviews on directories are short and overwhelmingly positive on academics and staff, with one neighbour complaint about loudspeaker noise and music from school events bleeding into surrounding streets.
  • Better known for early years and primary than for senior years; some international families use it as a bilingual entry point and switch to a more globally focused school for secondary.
