Instituto Thomas Jefferson - Campus Zona Esmeralda

The Atizapán campus of the Thomas Jefferson group, opened in 2012 and operated by International Schools Partnership, running Cambridge IGCSE alongside the IB Diploma to about a thousand students from maternal through high school.

ITJ Zona Esmeralda is part of the ISP network and one of its STEAM lab schools, which is the practical reason the curriculum leans hard into maker spaces, design thinking and technology partnerships. The school combines Cambridge accreditation and the IB Diploma with Mexican SEP and UNAM standards, and reports a 100% IB and IGCSE pass rate alongside strong English proficiency benchmarks by graduation.

Location is the main filter. Atizapán de Zaragoza sits in the northwest of greater Mexico City, well placed for families based around Hacienda de Valle Escondido and the Esmeralda residential corridor, less practical from Polanco or the south. Catchment is mostly Mexican professional families with a smaller international layer. A credible mid-to-upper-tier alternative to Greengates for families committed to the northwest.
