Manila Japanese School

The Japanese embassy-circuit school in Bonifacio Global City, serving Japanese expatriate families on a four-hectare campus in University Park. The MEXT curriculum runs in Japanese from early childhood through junior high, ending at age 15.

Around 460 students, almost entirely Japanese nationals on parent postings. Teaching is in Japanese, with one hour of weekly English conversation taught by native speakers, so this is not a route into international schooling for non-Japanese families. The point of the school is curriculum continuity for children who will return to Japan.

Facilities are solid for a national school of this size, with science labs, a library, and the swim and sports clubs that Japanese schools typically build in. Wikipedia dates the institution to 1901, which is misleading; the present BGC school is a much more recent posting-driven school for the Japanese expatriate community in Manila.
