Fontenebro is a bilingual international school in Moralzarzal, in the Sierra de Guadarrama north-west of Madrid, founded in 1996 and now part of the International Schools Partnership. Roughly 800 students aged 1 to 18 on a large mountain-edge campus.

Primary follows the International Primary Curriculum and secondary uses the IMYC, both in a bilingual English-Spanish setting, with students sitting the Spanish national exams at the end. ISP joined the school to a network of around 80 schools across 20 countries. Fees run roughly EUR 3,200 to EUR 6,280, modest by Madrid international standards.

Families value the natural setting, a no-homework approach in primary, strong English from early years, and university entrance results that sit above the Madrid regional average. The location is the practical filter, since Moralzarzal is around 40 minutes north-west of central Madrid. Best fit for families already living in the Sierra corridor or willing to commit to it for the setting and price point.

  • Multi-year families describe steady English progression, small classes and a settled feel; Spanish-language Google reviews skew strongly positive on the bilingual model and admissions experience.
  • A counter-current of parents say the school markets warmly but struggles to support children who need extra academic or emotional help, with one calling the experience their child's "worst vital experience."
  • The school sits inside International Schools Partnership (ISP), which is the operator regardless of the older Laude branding.
  • The pool overall reads as polarised rather than uniformly negative: parents whose children fit a mainstream profile are happy; parents whose children needed flex were not.

Positives

  • English progression and bilingual delivery. Long-tenured families consistently flag strong English outcomes and small class sizes.

Considerations

  • Support for children who need more help. Parents report the school does not adapt well to children needing academic or emotional support beyond the mainstream.
  • Operator. Operated by International Schools Partnership (ISP).
  • Polarised reviews. Spanish-language Google reviews trend strongly positive; outlier parent reviews are sharply negative.
