Colegios Ramón y Cajal is a long-established Spanish school founded in 1961, acquired by Inspired Education in January 2024 and now positioned as one of Madrid's leading IB Continuum schools. Around 1,500 students aged 0 to 18 across two Arturo Soria sites.

Since 2023 the school has run the full IB Continuum (PYP, MYP, Diploma) alongside the Spanish national track, with families able to choose Bachillerato or the IB DP at sixth-form. Inspired has built a new IB Centre on a third site that opened in September 2024. Monthly fees run roughly EUR 300 to EUR 700.

Families talk about strong English from early years, dedicated and well-known teachers, and academic results that put the school among the top IB performers in Spain. The recurring complaint is scale: large year groups and class sizes that some parents feel push individual attention down the priority list. Best fit for Spanish and bilingual Madrid families wanting a Spanish-rooted school with a credible IB pathway, less so for those wanting boutique class sizes.

  • Madrid school group with Spanish and IB programmes, 75+ reviews averaging 3.9 on MiCole.
  • Parent praise centres on a strong English programme, Cambridge exam preparation, results in IB and reaching 100% pass on Spanish university entrance exams.
  • The school's IB recognition (frequently quoted as 2nd in Spain, 7th in Europe by independent rankings) is the recurring positive marker.
  • Negative voices push back on three points: whether early-childhood quality holds through later stages, whether a class-size policy reportedly grouping students into classes of 40 limits attention, and whether sports and classroom facilities match the price.
  • Reddit and English-language community discussions offer almost no traffic on the school; reviews are concentrated on Spanish parent platforms.
