In brief
City Country School is a small American bilingual Montessori school founded in 2012 by a Spanish-American mother of twins. Serves children from age 3 to 16, with American Montessori Society accreditation since 2023.
Deliberately small, deliberately low-tech school that runs without classroom screens. The day is built around classic Montessori didactic materials plus a clay studio, kitchen classroom, garden, Aikido in the Dojo, and an adolescent café where students run a small business. American educational rhythm with Spanish woven through the day.
Parent voice is thin given the size, but the families who write tend to write warmly: tight community, children who arrive home talking about what they made or built rather than what they were told. Best fit for families who actively want a screen-free Montessori environment through to GCSE-equivalent age and who are willing to plan a transition for the upper secondary years, since the school does not run the IB Diploma.
