A small Greek-medium secondary established by the Greek Embassy in 1983, originally in West Acton and at its Wood Green site since 2012. Roughly 20 to 30 students aged 12 to 18 following the Greek National Curriculum.

Lessons are taught in Greek, with English three times a week and French as an additional language. The Greek government funds places for Greek and Greek-Cypriot students, so the school is free for that community. The site sits opposite the Greek Orthodox Church of the Virgin Mary in Wood Green and pulls from the wider North London Greek and Cypriot diaspora.

Ofsted noted a calm, well-ordered atmosphere with polite, well-mannered pupils and strong results in Ancient Greek and Ancient History. With only around 20 students on roll, the experience is closer to a small private tutorial group than a conventional school, which is the right fit for some families and limits options for others. Best fit for Greek and Greek-Cypriot families who want their children to keep the Greek system intact for return to Greece or Cyprus.

  • Independent school for ages 12-18 set up by the Greek Embassy in 1983 and run on the Greek Ministry of Education curriculum; a niche school for Greek-speaking families in London, not a mainstream international school.
  • A November 2023 Ofsted inspection found the school inadequate, citing missing prohibition checks for staff, out-of-date safeguarding training, and a PSHE programme that was incomplete and missing sex education in most year groups.
  • A June 2024 progress monitoring visit found further work was needed, but a March 2025 monitoring inspection found the school met all of the independent school standards checked, including a redesigned PSHE and RSE programme.
  • Ofsted Parent View shows insufficient parent responses to publish results, which limits what can be inferred about parent satisfaction.
  • Independent online discussion (Reddit, Mumsnet, community discussions) is effectively absent.
