The AEFE-accredited French international school in Lagos, on a purpose-built Victoria Island campus since 1987 and the obvious choice for French-speaking expat families on Lagos postings.

The school runs the full French national curriculum from maternelle to terminale, with the baccalaureate at the end and direct routes into universities in France, Canada, the UK, and the US. Around 580 students, class sizes capped in the low twenties, and the usual AEFE rigour around language, maths, and philosophie.

Run by the non-profit Association Francaise du Nigeria with an elected parent committee, so the community is tightly French-speaking and tightly involved. Families coming on Total, Lafarge, or diplomatic postings tend to land here by default. Anglophone families looking for a bilingual route can apply but should expect French to be the dominant working language.

  • AEFE-network French school in Victoria Island, around 580 students, average class size near 17.
  • Reviews are sparse but lean positive. Students describe teachers as warm and engaged, lessons as well taught.
  • One ex-student with eight to nine years at the school said the experience was good but "not perfect", flagging supervisor inconsistency at break times and uneven enforcement of rules.
  • No substantive Reddit or expat-forum signal in English. French-language sources are mostly directory listings rather than parent debate.
